Summary

A masterclass for leaders and managers taking their teams into AI, tuned to your own organisation: the tools your staff actually use, the governance framework that applies and a case study chosen for your leadership team. The session mixes short explanations with live use cases and a hands-on leadership exercise, so every topic is tested on decisions you will really face. You finish with a clear view of what AI changes in your teams’ work, and a plan for what to pilot first, what needs approval and what to tell your people.

Course breakdown

Why AI matters for Leadership

Why AI matters now and the role leadership plays in adoption, set against your organisation’s own context and goals for the session, with practice at the conversations that adoption brings.

Governance first

Your organisation’s own approved AI tools rather than a generic list, the boundaries for third-party AI, data protection, human responsibility and verification, and ethics, bias and oversight.

GenAI Basics for leaders

What AI, generative AI, large language models and chatbots are, why their behaviour is probabilistic rather than deterministic, and what that means for hallucinations, reliability, sources and grounding. Use cases in structured content creation and an AI prompting agent.

Chatbot overview & practice

The major chatbots compared, where your organisation’s approved tools sit among them, and two practical use cases: meeting minutes and an HR policy assistant agent.

Leadership exercise

What leaders actually control in AI adoption, worked through as a department AI task audit and a budget allocation model.

Adoption planning & Q&A

What to pilot first, what needs approval or policy guidance, and what managers should tell their teams, closing with an exercise in spotting the risk and choosing the control.
