Every section is worked through live on real documents, from prompting and scheduled prompts to templates and agents. You finish working confidently within the limits of your licence, with prompts that produce usable output first time, templates you reuse every week and your own agents.

Course breakdown

Getting started

Finding Copilot Chat in the apps, on the web and in Edge, and what each part of the interface does. What Work Mode and Web Mode are grounded in, when to use which, and why Web Mode is treated as a third-party tool.

Prompting

The four essential parts of a prompt, the four questions to ask before writing one and ten best practices. Using the assistant as your prompt coach, giving it a role and backstory, and setting a standing instruction it keeps to.

Automating your work

Scheduled prompts for a daily digest of your emails, meetings and files, a weekly search on a topic you follow, and a weekly task and email prioritisation. Reusable templates for meeting minutes and event reports, and how to fill, check and export them.

Copilot’s other Tools

Copilot Notebook, a workspace that holds a body of work together, built live from a real report, plus creating images and posters and making quick edits without leaving the chat.

Everyday use cases

Structured text from a video transcript, a product blog from rough notes, translation and reverse engineering, getting the tone of an email right, and meeting minutes from a transcript.

Agents

How Copilot agents work, the Agent Store and the two ready-made agents, Analyst and Researcher. Creating your own from a description: a document summariser, a prompting agent, a business communication coach and an HR policy assistant grounded in your own handbook.
